My Thoughts:
The Thinnest Air by Minka Kent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
3.5 stars to The Thinnest Air! 🌟 🌟 🌟.5
Minka Kent is a beloved author of my friend, Kendall’s, and The Thinnest Air is my first book by Kent.
Meredith Price considers herself lucky. She has been living a life of luxury married to her husband and living in a resort town. The catch: she’s gotten bored with it all, and then she vanishes into thin air.
When her car is found at a local grocery store, there is no sign of foul play. So did she choose to disappear, or was she abducted? Meredith’s sister, Greer, takes up the search, which lands her in some dark, seedy places.
The Thinnest Air is a great title with multiple meanings. This is a super quick and well-written read at less than 300 pages, and while it was a bit pat and predictable in places, there was a giant twist that shocked me! After that twist, however, the ending was more clipped than I would have liked. I wanted more! Minka Kent clearly has immense talent for this genre, and I will most definitely be checking out her other books.
Thank you to Amazon Pub/Thomas & Mercer for the copy. The Thinnest Air will be published on July 1, 2018!

Synopsis:
A woman’s disappearance exposes a life of secrets in a twisting novel of psychological suspense from the author of The Memory Watcher.
Meredith Price is the luckiest woman alive. Her husband, Andrew, is a charming and successful financial broker. She has two lovely stepchildren and is living in affluence in a mountain resort town. After three years of marriage, Meredith’s life has become predictable. Until the day she disappears.
Her car has been discovered in a grocery store parking lot—purse and phone undisturbed on the passenger seat, keys in the ignition, no sign of struggle, and no evidence of foul play. It’s as if she vanished into thin air.
It’s not like Meredith to simply abandon her loved ones. And no one in this town would have reason to harm her. When her desperate sister, Greer, arrives, she must face a disturbing question: What if no one really knows Meredith at all? For Greer, finding her sister isn’t going to be easy…because where she’s looking is going to get very, very dark.
Pretty picture. Awesome review. I am going to try this suspense/thriller. 📑

It is a clever title with a few different meanings- I love it when that happens! She lived in the mountains, where the air is thin, and she vanished into thin air. Fun!

I do like when that happens too!

Funnily enough I was looking at this one on Amazon yesterday. It has very mixed reviews – some people seem to love it and others absolutely hate it! When I read the first line, I decided it probably wasn’t one for me… I do love chocolate cake, though. 😜

You’re welcome!! Thanks..you too! ❤ Well, we were until yesterday when it was 109 with the heat index and they issued a beach hazard warning because the current was too dangerous. My 8 yr old has no fear in the ocean, so there was no way that I was 1) going out in that heat and 2) letting her near the surf because I knew she'd just go out past where I said and maybe get swept out! And today it was okay for a while then started thunderstorming while we were on the beach, lol. It's been doing that since 3 with occasional hail, hahaha! It is supposed to be in the mid 80s-lower 90s the rest of the week if the storms hold off!! I hope so, so we can get more time in the water (that means me sitting in a chair reading) and some boat time. And I know hubby wants to get more golfing in because you can't golf in Raleigh….lol! I did see that, and I'm going to look for that! I realized that The Thinnest Air was offered by Amazon as my free June First Read book, but I picked something else! Oh well…

Oh my, you are having some weather! Today we weren’t too hot here, 80s- the clouds helped, and tomorrow, it’s supposed to be in the 70s and rainy, so I hope that translates to great weather that way! Either way, I hope you get some good weather for chair sitting/book reading for the rest of your visit! Goodness about the hail! I’m sure there is absolutely nowhere to golf in Raleigh! Lol

Yes, we certainly did, lol! There is nothing like trying to pack everything up on the beach when thunder and lightening starts, haha! Sounds like great weather there! I know it’s raining in Raleigh today, but it’s sunny and 80s here (but 90s with the heat index) although they are calling for storms on and off. The rest of the week looks nice though! I’ve just been sitting on my back porch under the ceiling fan drinking coffee and reading most of the morning, so it can rain if it wants! Thanks…I plan on trying to read at least 3 more books by Sat if I can!! No, lol, there is no place to play golf in Raleigh….and we live beside a golf course in Morrisville, bless his heart. LOL. I guess golfing in SC is just better!
