Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a meme hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings to spotlight upcoming releases we are excited about that we have yet to read. This week’s edition is one I am on the edge my seat! Waiting! And so excited! 🤩
The book I’m waiting on this week is…
The Night Olivia Fell by Christina McDonald, Expected US Publication: February 5, 2019 by Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books.
I have had my eyes on The Night Olivia Fell since I first heard about it, and I was super excited to be invited to read and review an ARC. I am also ecstatic I was able to schedule a group read with a few blogger buddies! We hope to start reading next week! Just take a look at that eerie cover and this synopsis (reading it has me both enthralled and emotional already).
From Goodreads:
In the vein of Big Little Lies and Reconstructing Amelia comes an emotionally charged domestic suspense novel about a mother unraveling the truth behind how her daughter became brain dead. And pregnant.
A search for the truth. A lifetime of lies.
In the small hours of the morning, Abi Knight is startled awake by the phone call no mother ever wants to get: her teenage daughter Olivia has fallen off a bridge. Not only is Olivia brain dead, she’s pregnant and must remain on life support to keep her baby alive. And then Abi sees the angry bruises circling Olivia’s wrists.
When the police unexpectedly rule Olivia’s fall an accident, Abi decides to find out what really happened that night. Heartbroken and grieving, she unravels the threads of her daughter’s life. Was Olivia’s fall an accident? Or something far more sinister?
Christina McDonald weaves a suspenseful and heartwrenching tale of hidden relationships, devastating lies, and the power of a mother’s love. With flashbacks of Olivia’s own resolve to uncover family secrets, this taut and emotional novel asks: how well do you know your children? And how well do they know you?
Wow Jen! This one looks and sounds creepy as hell!! How do you find all these books I’ve never heard of but you make me want to read?🤔 Have a great day and happy reading!😊❤☕📚📚

Ah, happily, the blurb of this doesn’t appeal to me much – but I bet you’ll persuade me otherwise when you review it! 😉 Hope it lives up to your expectations! 😀

That’s too funny! I bet we would all year, lol. It was okay; I’ve not been feeling all that well. Now my hashimoto’s thyroid is so out of whack that it’s giving me cardiac symptoms, so I’ve been back at the Dr and resting. I think stress about Mon is catching up with me too. A blog break is definitely needed…

Oh no, I am so sorry you aren’t feeling well, and definitely take some time away if you need it. All of this will be here when you get back. If you do read my email, don’t worry about responding to the “extra” that was a response to your last message. Just answer yes or no about the other because I think it’ll cheer you up. ♥️ Sending good thoughts. Xo

Thanks! I think a lot is anxiety….my dad had a heart attack at 47, so I keep freaking myself out, which just makes it worse. They did an EKG which was fine, but my TSH levels are so off that they are causing chest pain and palps, and of course, that is giving me anxiety, and then I’m getting stressed, so vicious circle! You are right! I at least want to get 2 reviews posted before I go on hiatus, but I won’t stress about it. I’m almost done with one, but my brain has been acting like it’s stuck, lol. Yes, I do need to answer you about that..LOL! Thanks, I need them!! xx 🙂

Thanks! Last night was a really bad night with the palps (and me googling every symptom under the soon and convincing myself it was worst case), so my endocronoligist has referred me to a cardiologist at Rex just to be safe because of my thyroid and family history (dad had that heart attack at 47 then a quadruple bypass at 62 and all his family living or dead has had heart disease, ugh). Thanks! I’m trying! ❤ xx

I’m glad you are going to the cardiologist. This sounds a lot like what our mutual dear friend, Mischenko, is going through, and I know she has Hashimoto’s too. I hope today is a better day! Thinking of you! 💗

Me too although I’m freaking myself out. You have no idea how many jars of mayo I’ve eaten in my life, lol. So my 1st thought is clogged arteries and they are going to do surgery…oh, the GAD mind! Oh yes, Jenn and I are health twins….we both have hashimoto’s, Lupus, fibro, and the list goes on and on…our symptoms are so often the same! Hashimoto’s is a nasty disease, for sure! Thanks…it comes and goes. I think stress is the biggest issue right now. You’re too sweet! ❤
