I know many of you are absolutely shocked that I am participating in a tag! Thank you, Norrie, for tagging me! While I’ll be answering the questions from Norrie at Reading Under the Blankie, I am also dedicating this rare tag sighting to everyone who has tagged me in the past like Bibi, Krystin, Sarah, Princess of Pages, Amy, Zuky, Mischenko, and I know there are others, too.
The rules are:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
2. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and ask them 11 new questions.
3. List the rules and display the sunshine blogger award on your post and/or blog.
Here are Norrie’s questions:
#1 What is your favourite breakfast?
I love a Belgian waffle with lots of butter and a dab of syrup. Not pancakes but a waffle! We always had a waffle iron growing up, and I have one now. There is nothing better than breakfast for dinner!
#2 What was your dream job when you were a child? Are you in that career now?
I wanted to be a veterinarian as a child, and I am not one now. Everyone says this, but I couldn’t do it because I would never be able to euthanize an animal. I’m grateful there are people who can, but I still could never, ever do it. I love being around animals all the time. I wish we could have a house full and would love to start a rescue someday.
#3 How do you drink your coffee?
I don’t drink coffee! 😬 Or very rarely! Like maybe a unicorn Frappuccino or something?! 🦄 I know that’s weird! But I gave up caffeine a while ago and have not ever been a coffee drinker. I love the smell, though.
#4 What’s your current favourite TV show we should all check out?
Gosh, I don’t watch much TV, but I do I love Dateline and 48 Hours Mysteries, and my real favorite is Cold Justice, another true crime show, where old cold cases are solved by a team of pros. It’s amazing! Please watch it on Oxygen because I don’t want it to be cancelled!
#5 What is your favourite way to relax?
I like to sit in my sunroom that faces my backyard and read. It’s high off the ground and in the trees, and I’m surrounded by green and (usually) quiet. Unless someone is mowing his/her lawn, weed whacking, leaf blowing, or pressure washing, which is just about all the time.
#6 What gets your day off to a good start?
Oh, that’s a great question. If I get about 30 minutes of exercise before sitting down for breakfast, I am pretty content because it’s much easier for me to be active all day if I’ve gotten that first chunk early. I also like a glass of room temp lemon water first thing, too. It’s magic! ✨
#7 Do your friends & family follow your blog?
My mom reads my reviews, but mostly on Goodreads. I have one local friend who follows me (hey, Alison, if you are reading this!), and a small handful of local friends who know I blog. Most would not understand, so I keep it to myself. My husband has never read my blog!
#8 Would you be ok to stay in a cabin in the woods by yourself for a week?
Absolutely. I would love the peace and quiet and am pretty independent. I’d be ready to talk to people when I got back, though!
#9 Describe yourself in five words.
Compassionate. Sensitive. Loyal. Genuine. Enthusiastic.
#10 Do you travel light, or take half the house with you?
Probably in between, but closer to half the house. 😂 My husband truly takes half the house, so my pile is small by comparison. As we lugged bags (while lost!) through the narrow alleys of the Barri Gotic in Barcelona, we said never again, but I don’t think we’ve learned a bit!
#11 What are your hobbies, other than blogging?
I love gardening. Most of the pics you see on my blog are of my own flowers and plants, though I do buy some, too. Photography is another favorite pastime. I also love dancing and exercising, especially spinning. Let me know if you want to know about the best online spinning classes ever! I take them on demand, and there’s tons of variety and great music, which is a must for spinning!
I really liked Norrie’s questions, so if anyone would like to answer them, here they are: (I hope that’s not a big faux pas, but I really do like them! ❤️)

I loved reading this! We have a lot in common. You about killed me with your favorite breakfast! That’s one of my favorites at well. I really need to figure out a gluten free version for this fall. My husband has never read my blog either. I’d also love to open a rescue too!
Thanks so much for sharing this! It was fun learning more about you. ❤💗😘

Favorite M, we already knew we had a lot in common! ♥️ Are you more a butter or syrup person for your waffle? I bet you could do a great gluten free waffle! For Breakfast and a Book! 💗 We could open a rescue together. I’m glad you enjoyed this! I’m sorry it took me so long to do one! Happy to see you! Hope all is well and transitioning to school is going smoothly. Xoxo 😘

Oh I’d wish for butter and syrup I suppose. I do miss those days! 😂💕 All is good. Hope all is well with you too!

Oh no, you can’t have them at all? Because of the clean way you are eating now, or because you can’t have waffles due to gluten? It’s good here, too. So busy, but time is flying by like it likes to do! 💗

Yeah, I could have it if it’s gluten free, but I can’t have dairy period. Too many reactions. Butter was always one of my favorite things too, but I won’t complain. I’m used to it now lol. 🤣 I honestly miss sausage too! That was always a favorite breakfast food. I don’t think you eat meat though, right? 💜

No meat, and when I did eat it, I never liked sausage? Maybe it’s the fennel? That’s right – no dairy for you- we talked about this because I know I should give up on dairy. It’s so inflammatory. I think the biggest thing for me is building up my repertoire of nondairy meals that I love (I have a bunch) and then I won’t miss it. I think what we really like about butter is the salt. There’s really not much else to it because we can recreate the creaminess with other things. I actually don’t season my food with salt much, but I should probably do just a touch…if I were to give up dairy completely. ♥️ I should try a waffle with cashew butter. I think that would be just as good as butter and syrup. 💗 xo

Cashew butter is a thought! I’ve never tried it. I’ve really only used almond. 😄 I’m making gluten free blueberry pancakes this morning before church. I can’t wait! Enjoy your Sunday, sweetest friend. I hope we can catch up soon. 💌

Yum! Blueberry pancakes and I’m pretty sure you’ve shared that recipe, too. Yes, try the cashew some time. To me, it is decadent! I hope you’ve had a great day too, and yes, let’s catch up soon. Would love to hear from you any time. 💗 xoxo

I really enjoyed reading this!! I was shaking my head in agreement on many of your answers Jennifer. Even the one about the landscaping noise when you’re trying to read peacefully. Seems like someone is always mowing or weed whacking around my peaceful reading times too. 🙄 We have much in common. 😉

Aw, thanks, Laurie! I’m sitting outside right now listening to the birds and the hums of a million lawn mowers. 😂 We do have much in common, don’t we? 😉

I thought about you this morning when we were walking in a neighborhood and someone was weed whacking. 😂
We do. 😉

Ah, love your answers ❤
And waffles!! Yumm. Need to get a waffle maker ❤
*gasp* No coffee?? I tried giving up caffeine a while back and while it was all right, i just love the taste of it 😀
Love true crime! I watched Dateline but i don't thin i've seen the rest. Defo gonna check them out 🙂
I tried to make my BF read my blog, but he's not into books. Hehe.
Thanks for participating!!

I remember you love breakfast, too, so you need a waffle iron! It’s a must! I know, the coffee thing is so weird. I think I’m the only person in the world who doesn’t drink it! The taste of it is ok to me, but I’ve never given it a great try. I sometimes will get a white chocolate mocha in the winter, but that is not a straight up coffee either. When I gave up caffeine, I gave up soda completely, and the best way to do that is to drink water all the time…And so that’s pretty much what I do. So boring!
I hope you can find Cold Justice over there! It really is the best because you can watch them put the pieces together to old cold cases and finally get justice for people who have been waiting for years.
My husband will buy books, but not read them, so he’s probably in the same category as your BF!
Thanks again for the tag, Norrie, and thanks for reading my answers! ♥️ Hope you are having a great Saturday!

Nah, that’s not boring! Water’s good. I should drink more. I’m like some sort of a cactus… i can drink water in 30+ C degrees, but otherwise i just forget about it 😀
Found some episodes of Cold Justice on youtube. The lady on the cover image seems familiar, i might have seen a few already ❤

I love that! You are a cactus! 🌵 That retired DA on the cover is one of the toughest and most famous DAs in the US! She’s been on a bunch of Datelines. And if you ever watched the CSI shows, the other woman they show was the inspiration based on her work as a CSI! I hope you enjoy it, Norrie!

I was not expecting to see this post! How fun! I love it when I get to know a bit more about my favorite bloggers! You must have tons of gorgeous plants in your backyard if all your blog photos are from your garden! Wow! 😁

I know, it’s shocking isn’t it, Lana?! I surprised myself! I think Norrie’s tag hit me at the right time. I didn’t have a review to post for today, so I thought why not? Not all the flowers are from my yard- I buy some too! But I would say 80% or more are? It goes without saying, you are one of my favorite bloggers too! 💗 Now I’m really headed over to the campfire! 🔥

YAY – Jennifer, I’m SO glad you came out of your tag shell and did one. It’s such a great way to get to know people better, and I can see we have quite a few things in common, even though, I’d rather die than do spinning 😂 And I agree with waffles ruling. I grew up with making homemade waffles every Sunday, and I still do. I’ve since gotten more “daring”, and also make spinach waffles for easy and healthy lunch to bring with me to work 😀

I thought you’d be excited, Bibi! ♥️ You’ve waited a while to see this day! Spinning gets such a bad rap! 😂 Yes! We had our waffles on Sundays too! Mmm spinach waffles! I need to try that! Thank you for that idea!

Haha you know me well, Jennifer 😀 I have indeed been waiting a while, so I’m really happy you did it. And it was some great questions you chose to answer. Spinach waffles are great, a lot better than they sound 🙂

That was fun to learn a bit more about you! I shall now imagine you spinning merrily while typing reviews – now that’s multi-tasking!

😂 That would be something! I am pretty merry on my spin bike, I must say! So far, no one is joining me in my spinning love today. 😂 Hope you have had a great Saturday, FF!

Your sun room sounds like bliss, except for the mowers, strimmers and pressure washers lol xx

😂 It can definitely be blissful without the noise, which luckily happens! I hope you are having a great weekend! 💗

Love this! Do you have a spinning bike at home? I’ve been seriously considering that and if I do I will definitely take you up on the best on-demand classes, I actually teach spin, but it’s totally different when you’re by yourself!
And when I turn up my music too loud my teenagers told me to turn it down, LOL

Thanks, Berit! Yes, I have a Keiser, which is my dream bike. No cable or chain, little maintenance…Perfect bike! Remember we had the spin discussion over in the group and told Holly about the seat covers? These classes have a variety of music and instructors and they film two or three new ones every week with an endless library. They are based in San Diego! You should definitely look into getting a home bike. Best workout ever! And I blast my music too! Too funny about your kids! 😂

Yay, butter lovers unite! I just need a touch of syrup! It goes a long way! 😂 And I can’t stop laughing about your “dumbass” husband (your words, not mine!) not knowing what he is missing out on with missing your splendiferous reviews! 😂 😂 😂 You never fail to crack me up, Sus! ♥️ 💗
