Jacquie at Rattle the Stars tagged me for the Book Blogger Memory Challenge. Everyone knows (I hope!) I have the best of intentions with tags, and while I appreciate every single time I’ve been tagged or nominated, I’m behind on all the ones I want to do! That said, I couldn’t resist a memory challenge. I love this type of thing, and well, it was absolutely challenging…and fun, too!
The Rules:
You must answer these questions without looking anything up on the internet and without looking at your bookshelves!!
The Questions:
1. Name a book written by an author called Michael.
Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton, which I read years ago after I saw the movie. I think I need a re-read of that one!
2. Name a book with a dragon on the cover.
Has anyone read Puff, the Magic Dragon? We were obsessed with him as children, and that was the first book that came to mind. Now I have an earworm of the song, “Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea…….” 🎵 🎶 🎼
3. Name a book about a character called George.
My choice for this would have to be Curious George! I was obsessed with him, too! Such a cute little monkey and so much adventurous!
4. Name a book written by an author with the surname Smith.
One of my favorite North Carolina authors is Lee Smith, and my favorite book from her is On Agate Hill. I highly recommend it!
5. Name a book set in Australia.
I read a rather epic book by Kimberley Freeman called Wildflower Hill, which was set in Australia. It caused my to seek out all of her books, and I think I own all that I’m able to get my hands on. Her most recent is only available in Australia, and The Book Depository will not ship it over for some reason? I want that book!
6. Name a book with the name of a month in the title.
This is really hard, but I think I have one on my shelf called An Enchanted April or The Enchanted April? I do not recall the author.
7. Name a book with a knife on the cover.
The Word is Murder by Anthony Horowitz has a knife on the cover, and I remember feeling a bit silly putting my pretty roses next to that cover when I took the photo. 😂 I actually did something similar today because I just remembered I posted a bookmail pic on instagram of an ARC with a knife on the cover, The Lovely Wife! I placed an orchid beside the aggressive cover. Everything needs a little flower distraction. 😂
8. Name a book with the word ‘one’ in the title.
Ready, Player, One is my choice, and I own it, but have not read it yet. If you have read it, did you enjoy it? I’m excited about the 80s references!
9. Name a book with a eponymous title.
I have to go with the formidable Sadie, a book I recently reviewed. Don’t miss this heartbreaking book!
10. Name a book turned into a movie.
Crazy Rich Asians has been made into a movie, but I have not yet read that book either, though I own it. I hope to get it to it soon! I also need to see the movie! But book first!
This was so much fun! Thanks again for the tag, Jacquie! I will tag three people I know who, it’s safe to say, absolutely love tags: Bibi, Sara , and Princess of Pages. To you three very special ladies, I promise to do a tag from each of you soon! Because I do tags! (Sometimes!) ♥️ xo To anyone else who found this fun and would like to do it, I’m tagging you, too! Happy reading, everyone! Jennifer THR
Great tag & answers, Jennifer!😁💢💝

Thank you, Virginia! I hope you have a lovely Sunday, too, with some great reads! 💗

Crazy Rich Asians is an addicting book – I read it in basically one sitting lol! I saw the movie the other day (and while it was funny), the studio altered or completely removed major plot points … which was a little disappointing.

I’m so happy to hear you loved CRA, LP! That’s also promising that it reads quickly too, so I can fit it in sooner! Ugh, about the movie, though! Another case where the book is better than the movie? Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

You’re welcome, and thanks for letting me know about RPO! It seems to get lots of love, and I really need to check that one off the list!

Wow this looks so challenging! I’m impressed by your answers, I definitely would not be able to think of books for more than half of these without looking things up.

Thank you, Alyssa! I was really intimidated by it when I first saw it, but once I started, it wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it would be. 😊

We’re so wearing you down with these tags… welcome to the Dark side, Jen 😀 And thanks for the tag.

You are, Bibi! ♥️ I am finding the weekend is a good time to do them! I love being on the dark side with you! 💗

That’s usually when I do mine too. With some kind of tv in the background, and a cup of coffee. That’s my usual tag setting 😀

Love reading these, but I’m a tag failure, LOL!
Funny story about Curious George you know how my little brother just got married he was obsessed and still has his stuffed animal curious George as well as mine who is now cousin curious George, LOL but Curious George was at the wedding in a tux! No joke!
Also RPO was very good I loved all the 80s references! I think you’d love it! Change of pace!

I’ve been a tag failure, but I’m trying to do one here or there. The weekend is a good time to try to fit one in for me. I love that Curious George story! That’s so cute! 🐵 🐒 Also great to know about RPO! I love my 80s! ♥️

Ive been wanting to read Ready Player One since it came out! I don’t have enough time in the day to read all the books I want to read!😰 Oh and thank you for getting Puff the Magic Dragon in my head!!😱 At least now I’m not singing Meant to Be by Beberexha and Florida Georgia Line anymore!!😂😂💖💖

Oh, I love the Beberexha song, but like the new one more, since the other is so overplayed! 😂 I know, when will we ever feel like we’ve read them all? At least we have lots of choices! Sorry about Puff! No one else seems to know it, but you and me. 😂…and frolicked in the autumn mist, in a land called Hannalee. 🎤 🎶 🐉 😂 I don’t really know if those are the correct lines, but that is what I have been singing all these years. 😂 ♥️

I’m the grandma in the blogging world so of course I know Puff!😂
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honahlee
Little Jackie paper loved that rascal puff
And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff oh
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honahlee
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honahlee
Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched on puff’s gigantic tail
Noble kings and princes would bow whene’er they came
Pirate ships would lower their flag when puff roared out his name oh
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honahlee
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honahlee
A dragon lives forever but not so little boys
Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys
One grey night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more
And puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar
His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane
Without his life-long friend, puff could not be brave
So Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave oh
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honahlee
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honahlee

Thanks, Beth! Yes, why not?! ♥️ We can hold each other accountable to help diminish our massive TBRs! 😂 (No, really- I would love it!)

Squee!! You need to read Ready Player One! It’s such great fun. I loved all the 80s and video game references. And of course, kinda dystopia, so it worked for me.
Such a cool tag! Loved your answers.

Thanks, Norrie! That’s good to know that RPO is kind of dystopian because after Vox I want to try that genre again. The 80s and video game stuff sounds so fun!
