Shelfie by Shelfie is a fun book tag created by Beth at Bibliobeth. The idea behind the tag is to share a picture of any shelf of books you would like and answer ten questions about those particular books. Check out Beth’s recent Shelfie by Shelfie!

For this shelfie, we are just looking at these two steps. 😂 A few people have asked to see the books currently stacked on my stairs because all my shelves are full, and there is nowhere else to put another bookshelf in this house!

And here are the questions!:

1.) Is there any reason for this shelf being organised the way it is or is it purely random?

I think most of these were bought around the same time…This is actually the dregs of the stair shelves. The piles get bigger as you go down the steps. They need some time to be photo-ready!

2.) Tell us a story about one of the books on this shelf that is special to you i.e. how you got it/ a memory associated with it etc.

A sweet friend on Goodreads, Leila, from the UK, recommended the Barbara Erskine books to me. I still need to read them. I had no idea they were such chunky books, and I cannot wait to dive in. I will always think of her when I see these books.

3.) Which book from this shelf would you ditch if you were forced to and why?

Oh no, I can’t this week! I ditched a couple last week, so this week, I’m safe. All the book babies are safe. Unread and safe. Languishing on the steps. Unread.

4.) Which book from this shelf would you save in an emergency and why?

I would save the Mary Kubica because it’s signed. She’s a favorite author of mine, and I reviewed her most recent book When the Lights Go Out this week. But you know me…I’ll try to save them all!

5.) Which book has been on this shelf for the longest time?

I think I’ve owned The House at the Edge of Night for the longest. It got mixed in with the others because I photographed it! 😉 It begged to be in a photo!

6.) Which book is the newest addition to this shelf?

Swimming Between Worlds is the most recent addition! I cannot wait to read it because it’s set in North Carolina!

7.) Which book from this shelf are you most excited to read (or re-read if this is a favourites shelf?

All.of.them. I’ve got some goodies here! But I’ll say Lonesome Dove. I want to sink in to that giant book…and by the way, I bought the Kindle copy, too, because I don’t know how I’d ever read that monster by holding it! Do you like to read giant books like that, or would you rather have them on Kindle?

8.) If there is an object on this shelf apart from books, tell us the story behind it.

No objects, but probably some dust and cat hair! 😂 🐱

9.) What does this shelf tell us about you as a reader?

🧐😂🤣 The obvious: I’m definitely out of shelves!

10.) Choose other bloggers to tag or choose a free question you make up yourself.

I’m wondering if any of you put books in nontraditional places when you run out of room? I can’t be alone, right?! 😂

I won’t tag anyone, but Shelfie by Shelfie is so much fun to do, and Beth is one of the most supportive bloggers around, so please check out her page Bibliobeth , and also my friend, Paula’s, First Shelfie because she has mad book organizational skills! I could learn a thing or two from her set-up!

Happy Saturday, everyone, and happy reading! Jennifer THR
