Happy Saturday, friends! This post is a mishmash of ideas. The first is inspired by my friend, Bibi, who generously does a Follow Friday post on her blog along with Follow Friday tweets over on Twitter. Bibi is a huge supporter of other bloggers, so please give her a follow for friendship and always entertaining tags and reviews!
I’m also inspired by my long-time book friend, Traveling With T and her It’s Literary Friday Y’all posts where she wraps up her week with charm and sharing the blog love.
Last, I plan to include some book mail pics and currently reading pics. Those are always fun!
Personal Update:
I wanted to thank so many of you for the care and concern shown to me and my family during the recent hurricane. We are doing well, and the most harrowing aspects of our experience were evacuating my dad from the coast, and then returning him there (the latter being about a million times more stressful than the former). I remember many storms over my lifetime, and several devastating hurricanes locally, but I’m not sure I’ve experienced one that devastated so many communities in the Carolinas at once. I appreciate the messages, emails, and all the good thoughts. I absolutely felt them!
Sharing the Blog Love ♥️ ♥️ ♥️ :
Paula at Book Jotter has an inspiring feature full of all kinds of goodies and literary shares, and it’s one I look forward to each weekend. Winding Up the Week is a treat of a read and a hub of all things book-related.
Kathy at Pages Below Vaulted Sky is my fantasy-reading inspiration guru. Not only does she help me stretch genres, she impresses me with her passionately written reviews like this one about the Hollow Folk series. Oh, and she enables, too, because I scooped up that first book!
Mackenzie at PhDiva posted one of her comprehensive and beautifully-written reviews this week for The Ancient Nine . Now I’m super intrigued by that book!
Krystin at Here’s the F^&$ Twist inspires me daily with her tell-it-like-it-absolutely-is reviews, artistic ability, and design sense. Seriously check out her instagram! This week she shared her personal Book Nook and renovation of a room in her house. It’s gorgeous! Oh, and she enabled, too, because I bought my cat an elevated bed like Krystin has for her Little Monster!
Susan at Susan Loves Books is famously known for her Netgalley posts where she sends us all scrambling to request, but this week, I noticed her Top 10 Tuesday post with her outstanding list of fall reads!
Berit at Audio Killed the Bookmark shared a yummilicious review of Costa Del Churros, and just the title of the book made me hungry. Berit writes free form, enthusiastic reviews that always make me smile!
Carolina over at Third Limited does not write in third person, ever, but she shared her Top 10 Tuesday Fall TBR that had me intrigued and inspired! I’ll be watching for her exquisite reviews!
I’ll cut myself off there for this week, but I’ll be sharing more blogs the very next chance I get. ♥️
Currently Reading:
Now for some currently reading pics and thoughts. I have several group reads going with a small blogger group, 6 Book Besties. With them I’m reading:
All of these reads are going so well. I’m loving every book, but my favorite at the moment is The Dream Daughter! I may just finish that one first.
I’m also finishing up The Kennedy Debutante for a blog tour post on Monday! I am always fascinated with the Kennedys.
Book Mail!
Book mail is always super fun, and I was fortunate to receive some this week and last! Some of these pics have been shared on my Bookstagram!
I’m hosting a BOOK GIVEAWAY over on instagram for an extra set of copies I received of the new Sally Hepworth and Wendy Walker books! Please make sure to enter if you are interested! US only this time.
Last, I also was approved for some Netgalley and Edelweiss books, but I will try to include them in my next post because it’s getting late! ♥️
Great post 💕

I always enjoy your posts – this one even more so than most. You’ve given me some great new blogs to check out AND I really do enjoy the way you stage your book photos. There’s a degree of care and reverence in the way you do it that I love. Thanks and Have a Great Weekend, Brian

Brian, you write the most thoughtful comments. I appreciate everything you said. I imagine you’d especially love Kathy’s blog with the fantasy reads. Also, that is the perfect way of wording my pictures- with a reverence for the books. I absolutely love that. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, too, with some great books!

Mish Mash is just perfect! Is that a Southern thing? I’ve heard it all my life.

Thanks, Jonetta! I looked it up, and it’s an old word that’s been around since the 15th century, but you know how pockets in the south will retain old words and even accents? I’ve used it recently to describe an experience with a book! ♥️

I’m so glad you and your family are doing well despite the hurricane. It can’t even imagine what it must be like to go through something like that.
Thanks for the shoutout and for the list of new blogs to follow, which is something I’m always on the look for. Hope you have a great weekend.

Fun post! I hope your dad’s place wasn’t damaged by the hurricane. Your own house would be well insulated by all those books… 😉

Thank you, FF! I haven’t gotten to see it for myself, but dad says all is well! He lost some appliances due to power surge, but nothing major. My house would be so well-insulated, and we could craft small boats out of the books and float away! 😉 😊
