TGIF, everyone! First Line Fridays is a fun way to share from books on your TBR.
Today my first line is from a book I am currently reading with some blogger buddies:
I will start with the tree. Because everything begins, and ends, with the tree. The tree is the tallest one. It was planted way before the others. I’m not sure how old it is, exactly. Perhaps three of four hundred years old. It is ancient and powerful. It has weathered terrible storms, braced against unbridled winds. It is not afraid.
I am a fan of de Rosnay’s Sarah’s Key. Set in the present, the Rain Watcher has a completely different feel, and I love it all the same. The descriptions are luscious and literary. I am looking forward to reading more, and my review will post on publication day, October 30, 2018.

It was hard though! Now I only have 2 ARCS for Nov and 2 for Dec, so I had so much self control not requesting books that now I’m regretting it in a way, lol. I guess the bright side is I can early read some of my Jan and Feb books or just read whatever I want the rest of the year without any pressure for publication dates, etc. Yippee! I’m proud of you! I’ve been hopping on and off, but I haven’t seen anything that I want to request….hmmm…we might have to talk so you can tell me what you’re reading in Jan-April because I have a several but seriously nothing is catching my eye. Keep me posted!! ❤

I have this book to read. It sounds so descriptive and will make the reader feel like they are there. I am looking forward to getting to it eventually.
So, I am reading this Sunday night, but will give you the first line of the book I am listening to now.

I also have this book to read, but I haven’t read Sarah’s Key! Eventually, I’ll get around to both. It’s good to hear that you are appreciating this one, even with the earlier work to compare to.
