20190106_145225.jpgHappy Monday!  Today I am featuring The Surrogate by Louise Jensen in print for the first time in the US via Grand Central Publishing. I have a review and a giveaway for you today, along with two chances to win, so please read all the way to the bottom to check it out!

My Thoughts:

Kat and Nick are desperate to have a baby. They have tried all methods and are about to give up. They happen to run into Kat’s friend Lisa she has not seen in years. And now Lisa may just be their answer.

Even though Kat and Lisa were good friends in the past, there’s a reason they lost touch. Their secrets are dark and quite involved, especially in regards to Lisa.

Eventually everything blows up, and Kat and Nick may not have the picture-perfect life and family after all.

I recently re-read The Surrogate after reading it last year. It is a quick, absorbing story, and I’m sure many can relate to the initial feelings of Kat and Nick as they battle with infertility.

The Surrogate is a trainwreck type of psychodrama. You can’t stop turning the pages and waiting to see how it will unfold. I found it entertaining and completely original. The ending is completely unexpected, and I loved it.

Overall, The Surrogate is a bang-up, entertaining read for those looking for a fresh thriller.

Thank you to Grand Central Publishing for the complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

Synopsis:

‘You know that feeling? When you want something so badly, you almost feel you’d kill for it?’

Be careful what you wish for…

Kat and her husband Nick have tried everything to become parents, and are on the point of giving up. Then a chance encounter with Kat’s childhood friend Lisa gives Kat and Nick one last chance to achieve their dream.

But Kat and Lisa’s history hides dark secrets.

And there is more to Lisa than meets the eye.

As dangerous cracks start to appear in Kat’s perfect picture of happily-ever-after, she realises that she must face her fear of the past to save her family…
