Just a quick update…I appear to be in Twitter jail- maybe for the first time? My attempt at efficiency backfired. I’m tweeting and sharing like always, so I’m getting your content out there, but apparently I need to slow down, so you all can still get notifications of my shares.
Hopefully notifications will be back from me in a couple days? Until then, I’m still tweeting, and here’s a cute picture of my kittens Charles Dickens and Harper Lee. ♥️ That’s their faux tri-level tree shared with their adult brother, Hemingway. In less than a month’s time, it is low on leaves and the branches are all hanging down. 😂 Happy reading!

Twitter jail? Explain please.

I share blog posts on Twitter and Retweet, and yesterday, I did all my sharing first and came back to comment as I had time later in the day. My friends didn’t receive notifications that I’d shared their blog posts, so one way you get in Twitter jail is they take away the notifications your friends receive of your posts for a couple days, so they don’t know you are sharing.

Sorry to hear about twitter jail. Such a pain. My advice is to stop tweeting for now, until you’re “released”. And when you do start to share again, take out the @’s when you share a blog post. And also, if you’re tagged in something, only reply to the person who tagged you instead of all 40 or somewhat other people. That’ll get you in trouble as well. I used to be in jail every two weeks because I share so much but haven’t had any problems for months now.

Now I see why some people share without the @‘s- totally makes sense. I’m going to be much more careful about threads and tags. I think I know what happened in my case. I did all my sharing in a row without commenting on blogs to parse it out and slow me down. I have been doing my shares and comments the same way for months now and hadn’t had a problem before, so I think that may be it? I’ll make sure not to do that again for sure. 😂

What is Twitter jail?

There are different types, but in my case, you wouldn’t get a notification if I shared your blog post. So it keeps you from being able to see my post unless you directly to my feed and look for it. It’s a bummer!

It says 100 tweets and RTs in an hour, but then there are shorter increments of time too that weren’t listed out.

Those cats are so cute! And the names!!! I tried naming my dogs after fictional characters and authors, but they won’t respond to it. Haha! 😀

My youngest sister names them because they say I pick really complicated names. But most of our dogs’ names are from sweets – Hershey, Mocha. Haha! I think that’s where the get their sweetness? 😂

Too much sharing too quickly and possibly too many tags in the posts I’m sharing? I’m going to slow down and break things up like I normally do. I tried to be quick before work and now I am paying the piper! 😂 Thank you for the compliment on my little babies! They are the sweetest! ♥️

Sorry to hear you’re in Twitter Jail! I’ve been there a couple of times myself, even though according to their guidelines I never exceeded them.
I would usually just not share for a couple of days and I would be up and running again like usual. Hopefully you’re released soon! 😜

They would love the attention, Paula! They soak it up! Today I had to take all the leaves and branches off the tree because Dickens was eating them! I am so worried he has a belly full of plastic! And we all thank you for the compliment! ♥️

Aww, I hope you’re out of jail by now! They’re adorable; I just love baby kitties! We want to get another kitten but our 9 yr old cat is being aggressive towards our almost 11 yr old dog recently when they’ve been besties since she was 6 weeks old, so we’re not sure what that’s about and I’m not bringing a baby kitty home until we get to the bottom of her issue…xoxo

Twitter has kind of been a mess lately – I actually haven’t been getting some notifications from friends who aren’t in “Twitter Jail!” Hopefully this will get fixed for you soon!

Ahhh I hated it when I was in there! I was told if you re-tweet some posts then reply to some tweets individually you’re less likely to look like a bot. Hope this helps? I haven’t been back in since that one time I was there. I’ve probably now jinxed it!! 🤣

Aw, I’m so confused! I retweet every day and I reply individually for all my thank yous. I hope you didn’t jinx yourself! 😂 ♥️ What I did differently that one day was do all my twitter shares first, and then I went back in and commented. Never again! 😂 Now I will do my slow share, comment, share, comment, etc.

Thanks, Myndi! Apparently, it can happen when you tweet/share too fast? I was sharing blog posts from others’ blogs and they weren’t getting notifications that I had done so, so it stops the notifications, though I could still tweet.
