Happy Monday! Welcome to my stop on the blog tour celebrating the paperback release of Little Big Love by Katy Regan! Thank you to Berkley Publishing for the invitation! Stay tuned for information on how to win a copy at the bottom of this post!
About the Book:
One of Real Simple’s Best Books of 2018
Liam Jones was the love of Juliet’s life. He was her brother’s best friend, then her best friend, then the father of her little boy. In those shining weeks after Zac was born, she had never been happier and neither had Liam.
And then one night, Liam disappeared without a trace.
Ten-year-old Zac Hutchinson collects facts: octopuses have three hearts, Usain Bolt is the fastest man on earth. But no one will tell him what happened to his father and where he went.
When Juliet, inadvertently admits that his father is the only man she’s ever loved, Zac decides he is going to find him and deliver his mom the happily ever after she deserves.
But Liam left for a reason, and as Zac searches for clues of his father, Juliet begins to rebuild what shattered so many years ago.
An unforgettable, heart-stopping story of the secrets we keep and of love in all of its many forms.
My Thoughts:
Liam and Juliet are everything to each other. They have a history together, too. At one time, Liam was Juliet’s brother’s best friend, and then he was hers. Liam later becomes the father of their sweet little boy, Zac, and after his birth, they are overjoyed.
One day, Juliet wakes up to find Liam nowhere to be found.
Flash forward to when Zac is ten-years-old. He’s a collector of rare facts, such as who is the fastest man on earth. He has no idea where his father is or what happened, and understandably so, he wants answers. And Zac wants his mom to be happy more than anything.
So, Zac plans to find Liam and heal his mother’s heart.
But life and love isn’t all that easy, is it?
Little Big Love is a sweet, moving, and uplifting story. The characters are so warm and inviting I connected to them easily. Zac, for example, felt like any precocious ten-year-old and his love for his mom was palpable. I also can’t forget Teagan, another precocious ten-year-old. And, of course, there’s Juliet. She felt like a friend, down-to-earth, vulnerable, relatable, strong.
Overall, Little Big Love is a warm-hearted story that will leave you with the warm fuzzies. I love feeling that way at the end of a book.
I received a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
About the Author:
Katy Regan was born and brought up in the northern seaside town of Morecambe. Her claim to fame – aside from being possibly the only person in the world to get expelled from primary school – is that at the age of 16 she went to stage school in Surrey with Posh Spice. She worked at 19 magazine for two years before joining Marie Claire in 2002. ‘Highlights’ in that position included spending ten days in the buff on a nudist resort and becoming a footballer’s wife for a week — all in the name of investigative journalism. In 2004 at the height of her career as the office roving reporter singleton, she fell accidentally pregnant by her best mate (who just remained a friend). Seeing the creative possibilities in this unconventional situation, her editor commissioned her to write a column – And then there were three! which proved so successful it ran for two years and inspired many a reader to write in to Katy with their life story. She has now taken her loyal following to her blog – The State She’s In – on the Marie Claire website. She lives in south London and shares care of her son Fergus with his dad who lives across the road.

I’m just gobsmacked at the idea that octopuses have three hearts! Can this possibly be true?? How could I have lived for… ahem… *approximately* twenty-one years without ever hearing this before.??? Off to google…

Good grief! Apparently they have nine brains too!! Think how quickly they could get through their TBR… 😉

Oh, I think I remember that one- one in each tentacle and one in the head- maybe? I wonder if they’d even have to list their TBR?! They could just wing it!

9 brains? That is fascinating I wonder if your brains can argue with one another? Shoot I’ve never run out of people to talk to! I need to be an octopus!🐙
