I’m ecstatic to share a giveaway for Beantown Girls, a book I absolutely adored and reviewed last month now available from Amazon Pub/Lake Union! Special thanks to Get Red PR and Jane Healey for partnering with me for the giveaway and for my copy to review! Please make sure to read all the way to the bottom for the details of how to win a copy on this blog post.
Synopsis:
A novel of love, courage, and danger unfolds as World War II’s brightest heroines—the best of friends—take on the front lines.
1944: Fiona Denning has her entire future planned out. She’ll work in city hall, marry her fiancé when he returns from the war, and settle down in the Boston suburbs. But when her fiancé is reported missing after being shot down in Germany, Fiona’s long-held plans are shattered.
Determined to learn her fiancé’s fate, Fiona leaves Boston to volunteer overseas as a Red Cross Clubmobile girl, recruiting her two best friends to come along. There’s the outspoken Viviana, who is more than happy to quit her secretarial job for a taste of adventure. Then there’s Dottie, a shy music teacher whose melodious talents are sure to bring heart and hope to the boys on the front lines.
Chosen for their inner strength and outer charm, the trio isn’t prepared for the daunting challenges of war. But through it all come new friendships and romances, unforeseen dangers, and unexpected dreams. As the three friends begin to understand the real reasons they all came to the front, their courage and camaraderie will see them through some of the best and worst times of their lives.
My Thoughts:
The Beantown Girls is a doozy of a warm-hearted histfic read!
Fiona Denning is a planner. She knows who she’ll marry, when, what she’ll do until then. But, in truth, her future is up in the air. It’s 1944, and the war is in full effect. The worst news comes when she finds out her fiancé has been shot down in Germany, and he’s MIA.
Fiona is also a do-er, and rather than standby in Boston, she volunteers to be a Red Cross Clubmobile girl overseas. She doesn’t go alone and is able to bring two of her best friends, Dottie and Viviana, along.
As one might expect, working on the front in this way is not easy. With it comes danger and the challenges of war right in your face. But at the same time, these three women find new friends, new love, and perhaps new dreams in the making.
Now I know why so many of my friends are enthused about this book. At its heart, it’s the most beautiful story of female friendship. The writing is lush, and I fell for this trio of women. They are fun and engaging, warm, and most of all, real. I soaked up all I learned about the Clubmobile, impressed with its role and the impact of these women.
Be prepared to have your tissues, but also be ready for a warm heart and some laughs, too. The overall tone of The Beantown Girls is uplifting and inspiring, and I’m so grateful for the time I spent lost in the pages of this stunning book.
I received a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

Thanks, Jacquie! This book is SO special. I think you’d enjoy the friendship between the women and their strength. The Clubmobile was new to me, too. The women volunteers were taken right to the front in Europe in these Clubmobiles and they served the troops donuts and coffee, etc. to give them a taste of home and comfort. I wish my grandfathers were still here so I could ask if they ever saw one. ♥️

It’s pretty fascinating, FF! I mentioned in another comment I wish I could ask my grandfathers if they ever saw a Clubmobile when they were in Germany during WWII.
