20190822_110007.jpgToday I have a review of 29 Seconds by T.M. Logan, publishing on September 10, 2019 via St. Martin’s Press.

I reviewed Logan’s Lies last year and loved it!

My Thoughts:

Sarah is just starting out with her first professor job, working under Alan Hawthorne, a well known scholar and TV host. Hawthorne is bringing in millions of dollars in grants while he mistreats women and has gotten away with it for years. He now has his sights set on Sarah.

Hawthorne is becoming more dangerous in his advances towards Sarah, and she’s feeling trapped. That all changes when, while driving home, she helps a young child being kidnapped. The father of that child is a bit of a brigand, and he’s in her debt, offering to make all her “problems” disappear. Sarah’s only problem?  You know the one.

All she has to do is make a 29 second phone call.

Gosh, I got looped into Sarah’s story fast. I’m sure so many can relate to her. Logan did an impeccable job with these characters. I could imagine them perfectly. Everything heats up after Sarah saves the little girl, and it’s all such a wildly entertaining ride of unpredictability!

Overall, this is another one of those one-sitting, compulsive, addictive reads, so be prepared. Original from start to finish and timely, T.M. Logan has delivered another bold thriller!

I received a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

About the Book:

From the bestselling author of LIES comes 29 SECONDS, a sensational new thriller that explores what happens when a split second thought of revenge takes on a life of its own.

“Give me one name. One person. And I will make them disappear.”

Sarah is a young professor struggling to prove herself in a workplace controlled by the charming and manipulative Alan Hawthorne, a renowned scholar and television host. The beloved professor rakes in million-dollar grants for the university where Sarah works—so his inappropriate treatment of female colleagues behind closed doors has gone unchallenged for years. And Sarah is his newest target.

When Hawthorne’s advances become threatening, she’s left with nowhere to turn. Until the night she witnesses an attempted kidnapping of a young child on her drive home, and impulsively jumps in to intervene. The child’s father turns out to be a successful businessman with dangerous connections—and her act of bravery has put this powerful man in her debt. He lives by his own brutal code, and all debts must be repaid. In the only way he knows how. The man gives Sarah a burner phone and an unbelievable offer. A once-in-a-lifetime deal that can make all her problems disappear.

No consequences. No traces. No chance of being found out. All it takes is a 29-second phone call.

Because everyone has a name to give. Don’t they?
