Can you hear me cheering all the way from North Carolina? Under my Carolina moon? If you’ve been around my blog for a while, you’ll know Kristy Woodson Harvey is one of my faves. Not only do we share a beloved alma mater, but her writing is what I’ve termed “book comfort food.”
It is my pleasure to share the cover for her newest release, Feels Like Falling. Isn’t it a beauty? Hemingway thought so, too, and hung around for several pictures! A rare occurrence!
I’m also ecstatic to share that after the Peachtree Bluff series set in Georgia (which I ADORED), Kristy has returned to her roots in North Carolina for Feels Like Falling. Doesn’t that synopsis have you dreaming of a return to summer?
Feels Like Falling will be published on April 28, 2020, and Kristy is donating the profits from preorders to the Red Cross for hurricane relief. She lives in coastal North Carolina in an area that’s been hit hard two summers in a row from recent hurricanes.
I preorder all of Kristy’s books. They make great gifts because they are so universally-loved.
About the Book:
From “the next major voice in Southern fiction” (Elin Hilderbrand) and the bestselling author of the Peachtree Bluff series comes an odd couple tale of friendship that asks just how much our past choices define our happiness.
It’s summertime on the North Carolina coast and the livin’ is easy.
Unless, that is, you’ve just lost your mother to cancer, your sister to her evangelical husband, and your husband to his executive assistant. Meet Gray Howard. Right when Gray could use a serious infusion of good karma in her life, she inadvertently gets a stranger fired from her job at the local pharmacy.
Diana Harrington’s summer isn’t off to the greatest start either: Hours before losing her job, she broke up with her boyfriend and moved out of their shared house with only a busted Impala for a bed. Lucky for her, Gray has an empty guest house and a very guilty conscience.
With Gray’s kindness, Diana’s tide begins to turn, but when the one that got away comes back, every secret from her past seems to resurface all at once. And, as Gray begins to blaze a new trail, she discovers, with Diana’s help, that what she envisioned as her perfect life may not be what she wants at all.
In her warmest, wittiest, and wisest novel yet, Kristy Woodson Harvey delivers a discerning portrait of modern womanhood through two vastly different lenses. Feels Like Falling is a beach bag essential for Harvey fans—and for a new generation of readers.

I still love that term, “book comfort food” and I think it is wonderful how the pre-order proceeds are being donated to the Red Cross. I need to check out more from Kristy Woodson Harvey!

Thanks, Anne! Her books have so much heart! I hope you’ll get a chance to try them. My favorite of the ones out is Lies and Other Acts of Love, and part of it is set in Bath, NC, way down east, and then Salisbury, where the author is originally from. Her first book, Dear Carolina, has an Atlantic Beach, NC setting, which is where I lived for a few years as a child and one of my favorite places on earth. ♥️

Wow, these are wonderful photos. Unfortunately, your mini tiger takes away all the attention from the book! 😉
