Welcome to my stop on The Blue Zones Kitchen blog tour sponsored by TLC Book Tours! Thanks to TLC for the invitation.
My Thoughts:
Have you heard of the Blue Zones? Those regions of the world known for the longevity of their populations? Ever since reading and listening to How Not to Die by Dr. Michael Greger, I am all about using food as medicine and living a longer, healthier life as a result.
I’m a vegetarian who eats many plant-based meals, and all of these recipes are not vegetarian or plant-based; however, from the 100 recipes, there are many I’d love to try. Sweet potatoes and lentils are staples in our house, and I could eat them at most every meal.
As with any National Geographic book, the photography and presentation are both stunning. It drives you to want to make the food as soon as you can.
Overall, I’m pleased to have this cookbook in my arsenal and can’t wait to try some recipes out soon.
I received a gifted copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Thanks so much, Marialyce! Even as a kid, I was almost a full veggie with turkey at Thanksgiving to appease my sweet grandmother. ♥️

It’s amazing, really, LP! A book I’ve been obsessed with is How Not to Die, and the author has a newer one How Not to Diet. He talks about the Blue Zones in the first book, and he has a cookbook, too. I am loving having all of these options for healthy eating. Good luck with adding more plant-based meals! It’s fun! ♥️

I ddint’ know what a blue zone was but I did just watch a show where they were talking about a city in Costa Rica where this exact thing happened. Fascinating! They do say you are what you eat. 🙂

Thanks, Jonetta! It definitely is a fascinating topic! I have to mention a recent book that’s been life-changing for me in case you are interested because I know you are centered on good health. It’s called How Not to Die and I listened to the audio and have the hardcopy. It is so good and has me incorporating things like broccoli sprouts every day and using a standing desk at work. I am determined to stave off the health conditions that are prominent in my family. ♥️
