My Thoughts:

First in a new series, Derailed is an exciting mystery.

Kelly Pruett is a private investigator working on her own. She inherited her late father’s agency and is doing her best to leave behind her controlling ex.

Kelly finds a letter from her dad that is tied somehow to a cold case involving a woman hit by a train. Was it an accident or was it murder? Kelly is on the case and putting all the pieces together.

I really grew to love Kelly. She became stronger during the story and with the hardships she faced. There’s a touch of romance in this well-written mystery. I had a lot of fun with this one and found it exciting overall!

The best part? It’s a series so I can continue to follow along with Kelly and what’s next for her.

Mary Keliikoa spent the first 18 years of her adult life working around lawyers. Combining her love of all things legal and books, she creates a twisting mystery where justice prevails. Her short story, Sabotage, was published in Woman’s World and she is the author of the PI Kelly Pruett series which will debut with DERAILED on May 12, 2020.

At home in Washington, she enjoys spending time with her family and her writing companions/fur-kids, Bella, a bossy golden retriever and August, her mischievous kitty.
