Welcome to my stop on the blog tour celebrating the release of The Search Party by Simon Lelic! Thank you to Berkley Publishing for the invitation!

Check out my review of The Liar’s Room from January 2019.

About the Book:

A twisty, electrifying new thriller from the author of The New Neighbors and The Liar’s Room…

The entire town thinks sixteen-year-old Sadie Saunders is dead. Missing now for a week, they say she was murdered. And they think they know who did it.

Sadie’s five best friends aren’t so sure, and they vow to find out the truth. So they pack their bags and head into the woods where Sadie was last seen.

But they’re not just friends, they’re suspects. And each of them has a secret.

As the landscape opens up, and the darkness closes in, the reality of their situation becomes clear…

This was never really a search party.

It’s a witch hunt.

And not everyone will make it home alive.

My Thoughts:

After having read and enjoyed The Liar’s Room by Simon Lelic, I’ve been looking forward to The Search Party, which I found equally compelling.

Sadie has been missing for a week, and the town believes she’s been murdered and they know who did it; however, Sadie’s best friends have other ideas.

The best friends are suspects with secrets, and they head to the woods where Sadie is last seems to figure things out. A search party of sorts…Except it becomes something else, something even more sinister.

These are Sadie’s best friends, so they would never hurt her, right? When the police arrive to the woods, they find a body but it’s not Sadie. Who is it and what has happened?

If you are looking for a fresh, twisty thriller, this is a captivating one. I had no idea where the next twist would lead, and I was here for it. Overall, The Search Party is an exciting and enjoyable thriller.

I received a gifted copy. All opinions are my own.
