Welcome to my stop on the Spirit of the Woods blog tour sponsored by Suzy Approved Book Tours! Thank you to Suzy for the invitation!
About the Book:
“Spirit of the Woods: The Story of a Young Woman’s Encounter with Bigfoot” by James Alan Ross,* Foreword by Survivorman Les Stroud*
Alex Knight, the world’s foremost authority on bigfoot research, heads to Canada to investigate a profoundly credible bigfoot encounter. His daughter Sidney eagerly joins the expedition. Accompanied by reluctant Toronto television hostess, Ameerah Ali, Sid and her father’s team adventure north in pursuit of the legendary sasquatch.
Prophecy from a forgotten Algonquin tribe and a mystical calling deeply connect Sidney to the creature. The revelation of unknown truths ensures that Sid will never see the forest, or herself, the same again.
My Thoughts:
When I was growing up, my brother was obsessed with Bigfoot! Sasquatch was a big part of pop culture at the time, and he latched onto it. I thought this book would be a way for me to learn more about Bigfoot for myself, and it was.
Alex and his daughter, Sidney, are on the hunt for Sasquatch, investigating a credible encounter. I can’t disclose anything further about the adventure that ensues, or I risk spoilers.
I will say this was a unique read for me, and I enjoyed the departure and a touch of nostalgia. I LOVE the brightly colored cover, and the story within the book is just as engaging. Check this one out if you’ve ever been curious about Bigfoot, too. You never know what or who you may find!
I received a gifted copy.

I first came to know about ‘Bigfoot’, in a different setup, while reading Tintin in Tibet in my younger days.

Of course Bigfoot was something we read about, saw news stories about and watched movies (Harry and the Hendersons) when I was younger, I live in Canada after all. 😁 This sounds like a beautiful book, I especially like the tie in to Native American Culture. Although it is not my normal read, I am adding this one to my TBR. Wonderful review Jennifer.

I might have to give this one a read, especially since I live in Bigfoot country (Vancouver Island :))
There was a thing about a researcher suing the government over his claims of Bigfoot but it was thrown out of court a while back: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-45414641
