Welcome to my stop on the Secrets of the Whales blog tour sponsored by TLC Book Tours! Thanks to TLC for the invitation!
Review:
I thought I was interested in whales and sea life, and then I went on a whale watching cruise while on my honeymoon in Alaska. I researched the best tours, and we were fortunate to find one out of Juneau on a smaller boat with only two other couples and two tour guides, famously known as Harv and Marv. If you are ever in Juneau, definitely check them out.
I spent the entire cruise at the back edge of the ship catching every glimpse of sea life I could. I had two cameras clipped on me so I wouldn’t drop them in the sea, and did I mention it was often raining? It didn’t matter. This was the experience of a lifetime for me, and I loved every second.
Having this treasure, a National Geographic book, all about whales is the next best thing to my memorable cruise. I learned more facts about whales, and of course the images are second to none in quality. I highly recommend this book if you have been whale watching or want to go, but also, if you love animals, sea life, or the raw beauty of nature.
Have you ever been whale watching or is it on your bucket list?
I received a gifted copy.

We were able to see some even from our big cruise ship, Carol, but the best sightings were definitely on the excursion in Juneau in the smaller boat. What a trip, right? ♥️

I took a helicopter excursion and walked on a glacier!

We did the single engine plane glacier landing on Ruth Glacier! My husband would not go on a helicopter! 😂

How fascinating, Jen! I would love whale watching. My husband spent years in Alaska when he was in the military, but it was before our marriage. I’ve heard the stories though! This book looks like a great addition to your collection. Beautiful review as always. 😉

My sister and I went on a wildlife cruise in Scotland and saw absolutely nothing except some great coastal scenery. Our guide pointed way off at some puffins, but they were so tiny and so far away we really couldn’t see them and they didn’t show up in our pictures at all. LOL!

Aww, Janet, what a bummer! I’ve been wanting to see those Scottish puffins myself!

Sounds awesome Jennifer! Alaska is the only state I have never visited and was planning a trip and then COVID.

I love that you have visited all the states but this one, Anne, and you have most definitely saved one of the best for last! I hope you get your trip and can’t wait to hear about it! ♥️

I love whale watching as well! And I enjoyed reading about your tour in Alaska – some people may prefer palm trees and beaches, but to me it sounds like the perfect honeymoon! Trying to get a good photo is always fun, I am so bad at predicting where they will come up for air next time. 😊

It really was the most perfect honeymoon, especially in July! I basically took pics nonstop but none of pictures were that good. Thankfully my digital SLR camera and skills have improved since then! 😂
