My Thoughts:

Alison needs brain surgery, and lucky for her, her sister’s husband, Grant, is a well-respected neurosurgeon up to the task.

No one knows this but Grant has a pill addiction. Sadie, Grant’s teen daughter is also teetering on the edge. She’s taking risks she definitely shouldn’t.

Alison also has secrets, including an affair.

Will this family come together or be torn apart?

Better to Trust had my attention rapt. It delves into some important issues and the characters are complex and likable. Overall, this is a page turner and book in which I was deeply invested.

About the Author:

Heather Frimmer is a radiologist specializing in breast and emergency room imaging. Her first novel, Bedside Manners, was published in 2018 and has received several awards including National Indie Excellence, Readers’ Favorite and Independent Press awards. She completed her medical training at Weill-Cornell Medical College, New York Presbyterian-Cornell and Yale New Haven Hospital. She lives with her husband and two children in suburban Connecticut.
