TGIF, everyone! First Line Fridays is a fun way to share from books on your TBR.
Today my first line is from a book I am currently reading:

I have been enthralled with the Kennedys my entire life. Several months ago, I listened to Rosemary: The Hidden Kennedy Daughter. While listening to that nonfiction book, when Kick was mentioned, I wondered why I didn’t know more about her. Shortly thereafter, I found out this book was being published. I’ll be participating in a blog tour for it next week and hosting a giveaway, so please stay tuned for my review!

This one is historical fiction, Kim, so it’s based on fact, but has some embellishments to make it a really good story. Do you like that genre? I hope you have a lovely weekend, my friend! ♥️

It’s from The Bravo of London by Ernest Bramah – vintage crime – and I’m not sure quite what I think of it so far…

That one didn’t go down smoothly for the first bit. I look forward to your thoughts! I love your vintage crime reviews. The main “character” in this book (a real person, actually), had a short life. I definitely wasn’t drawn to the “deb” parts but more the story of the Kennedy family. You may have heard this before, but since we don’t have royalty over here, sometimes the Kennedys are referred to as our royalty. There is a huge love and fascination for this family (and with great reason- so many wonderful accomplishments towards human rights). 😊

The Kennedys are such an interesting (and tragic) family, a few years ago I did an essay on the Chappaquiddick incident and I haven’t managed to forget about it since. I hear they’re making a movie.

Mine’s from a book called Nightingale!
“There was a dead girl in the bed next to June’s.
The corpse was giggling uncontrollably into her pillow, muffling the sound, making it much quieter than the shrieks and cackles coming from behind the closed door leading to the hallway, a wicked harmony of pain and grief and fear.”
Which…doesn’t sound all that pleasant but it definitely caught my attention! 😀

She had a short life, Kathy, and she doesn’t seem to be as talked about as the other Kennedys. I’m rubbing my hands together to read your first line- I look forward to it every week!
